Rain, assignments, work and Silver Springs!

Well over the last few weeks we have booked everything for Wooffing and apart from me (Sophie) needing some new work boots we are ready to go. We have both been backwards and forwards to see each other over the last few weekends, which has meant a lot of travelling and not enough time to sit and write on the blog. During the week me and matt have been getting on with our various responsiblities and by the time we get to weekends we are so tired. But despite this we have managed to help my Dad to prepare the flat for when we officially move in, in June sometime, its so exciting. My Mum and Dad have very kindly decided to let us live in the flat while we are off on our travels. So the other weekend we helped to move the furniture and clean up the flat. So it is looking very fresh and clean and so empty, ready for all our stuff.

There is currently a single bed in there as my brother, Sam, is still living up there when he comes back from Uni. Other than that we also had a go at my parents garden, as it is attempting to be a bit of a jungle, while my mum is away. So me and Matt demolished some fushias that were getting way too big. Then matt planted some onions sets in the raised beds. We also got to visit one of the wooffing places to introduce ourselves and get to meet the wooff hosts. We had a lovely lunch that they made and a good chat and we were very impressed with their ideas. Their land was also amazing, they have planted hundreds of trees to make a beautiful and functional coppice woodland. The thing that amazed me most is they have barely been there a year! So we are definitely excited about returning, hopefully after we have acquired some more info to share (like keeping chickens).
This week/weekend has had some unexpected things happen in it. My friend from first year at Uni has finally returned from China and come back to Exeter and so we had a lovely chat on friday before I went back to Ilfracombe. I got home to discover that my ginger cat foolishly got into a fight and had a nasty bite on his back leg. We had to take him down to the vet to have it cleaned and get some antibiotics for it. He also much to his dismay has to wear a buster collar (those lampshade collars) to stop him washing it. Other than that he is fine, foolish kitty.
Here is the silly kitty and Saffy (the grey cat) who I am certain is mocking him, but also slightly worried she might get one too. Anyway, I better go before this gets too long hehe
